On the 28 May DCC are to consider a planning application for a touring caravan park on Bullock Lane, Riddings. I have it on good authority that they intend to approve it. The application is opposed by the local community on the following grounds: This application is neither ‘essential’ in Green Belt, nor ‘essential’ generally. It will not benefit the local community. It will adversely affect the local community. It is a duplication of an existing facility less than a mile away that is underused. It is in direct conflict with the Local Plan. It is in direct conflict with the Nottingham-Derby Green Belt review. It is in direct conflict with the Regional Spatial Strategy for the East Midlands (RSS8). It is in direct conflict with the Planning Policy Guidance 2: Green Belts. It is in contravention of conditions set out in CM6119893. We do not see on what possible grounds DCC could possibly wish this application to be approved. It seems they have little regard for Green Belt or the local community.
