Carnival seeks help for 2013 occasion

Villagers have announced the date for the 31st Ambergate Carnival – and this year’s show will see a week of events in the run-up to the big day.

The actual carnival will be held on Saturday, July 13, they have announced this week.

Now organisers are calling for volunteers to spare a couple of evenings a month helping to book bands and food vendors, and help with the general organising of the event, which will also feature a Family Sports Day on Sunday, July 7.

Committee chairman Jack Evans said: “This year’s theme is music so start planning your costumes and floats now!

“We are still looking for acts and bands for the afternoon so if you’re interested get in touch with us via our website.”
