Fairtrade was super success
Madam, May I through your pages thank all of your readers who have helped make Fairtrade Fortnight such a success?
I fully support the Fairtrade movement and its message of making trade work for the developing world because through trade, people in the developing world can earn their way out of poverty – provided they can sell their products freely, and get fair prices for them.
The great thing about the Fairtrade movement is that it allows British
consumers to send a voluntary signal, through the market, about the conditions in which they want their goods to be produced.
By thinking about how we shop, perhaps combining our wish to support local businesses as well as African farmers, we can make a difference every time we visit the supermarket or buy a cup of coffee – not only during Fairtrade Fortnight but all year round.
Lets make it a Fairtrade Year not Fortnight.
