Work by a more than 50 leading Derbyshire artists and designers will be in show later this week.
As part of Derby City Partnership Week, Derby's leading creative industries hub Banks' Mill Studios in Bridge Street, Derby, will hold a Summer Open Studios from Friday, June 27, to Sunday, June 29.

Organisers say it will be a unique opportunity for all to see why Derby is fast becoming recognised as one of the UK's artistic hotspots and will showcase the cream of contemporary art and design produced in the city.

A focal point of the Open Studios exhibition will be the unveiling of Concilium Plebis. Funded by the Arts Council England, artist Emma Tooth's' Concilium Plebis, Latin for Council of Ordinary People, is a collection of portraits based upon the unlikely marriage of fine art and the ASBO generation.

This unique juxtaposition of high-brow and low-brow has produced some astonishing results.
