August Bank Holiday weekend will see three days of some of the best music around with special guest performances from bands including INME, Kid Ego and DJ sets from iLiKETRAiNS.
Junktion7, in Nottingham city centre, will be hosting SevenFest, a charitable alternative music festival in aid of Midlands Women's Aid and Cancer Research.

Adrian Smith, owner and promoter of Junktion7 said: "We felt we wanted to showcase many of
the great acts that have been at Junktion7 over the last few years, but to also provide the gig-going public with a great three-day event that covers a wide range of genres."

The three-day mini-festival starts on Friday August 22 from 7pm. SevenFest will be kicking off with INME, Drag The Lake, Deadfall, and a host of other great bands.

The festival will continue on Saturday August 23 from 5pm with Kid Ego, Dead Souls, Suns of Banditos, and very special guests who will be revealed nearer the time.

The festival will end on the Sunday with the iLiKETRAiNS DJ Set, The Kull, The Swines, The Jet Boys and other acts, starting from 5pm.

Adrian said: "We hope the festival brings together people from all the different genres of music so they can experience music that they wouldn't normally go and see."

Adrian also wanted to involve two charities that he felt people could identify with.

His mother died from cancer a few years ago so Cancer Research was his first obvious choice.

Adrian also manages a band called Illuminatus. "This is where the charity, Midlands Women's Aid, came from. We had an album launch for the band, and the door money went to Midlands Women's Aid, which was their choice, so it seemed appropriate that we supported the charity again."

This is the first SevenFest that Junktion7 has held, but will hopefully be the first of many, turning it into an annual festival for Nottingham.

Interested parties should check www.myspace.com/sevenfest for bands being added, leading up to the event.
Tickets are on sale now. Day tickets are £6, and weekend tickets are £12.

They are available from www.junktion7.co.uk, Heavy Sounds, Selectadisc, Nottingham Drum Centre or by calling the 24-hour ticketline on 08700 600 100.
