Tickets for a concert to celebrate 60 years of the Belper Harmonica Revellers have sold out.
The Diamond Revue concert this Saturday, April 26, at St Swithen's Church will see the eight current members of the group joined by six others who have come back just for the show following an article in The News appealing for former members.

Geoff Collis, leader of the group said: "Someone from Canada got in touch who was in the group in 1940 after seeing the article. There are also other people who I didn't know from the original group coming to the show.

"It's fantastic, I'm really pleased. It should be a great night. People are coming back just for the event, including the harmonica player from the original group."

The revellers was formed in 1948 by eight young men who were being taught to play the harmonica by Bill Bradley, church council leader at Dairyhouse Road Methodist Church.

Jon Lewis, a consultant film maker who now lives in Brazil, has flown in to make a film of the Diamond Revue and will be making DVDs of the film for the participants.

All money raised will go towards the church on Holbrook Road.

The Harmonica Revellers is looking for 2-3 more players, willing to give up their spare time to entertaining for charity. Anyone interested should contact the current leader Geoff Collis on 01773 829360 or email him at geoffcollis@hotmail.com.
