Stories, songs and films will be on show in Belper on May 16 when an evening at Belper North Mill will be part of a nationwide month of activities in museums and art galleries.
The evening will include a session of story-telling and music by well-known local performer Pete Castle.

Belper's community choir, Rough Truffles, will perform songs from around the world and there will also be a screening of Shaun the Sheep from the makers of Wallace and Grommit films, supplied by Aardman Promotions. A buffet supper will also be included.

The event is a European initiative to encourage all museums to attract more visitors by putting on special events.

Tickets for the evening, which starts at 7.30pm, can be obtained from Belper North Mill during opening hours, which are 1pm to 5pm from Wednesday to Sunday.

More information about the event is available from mill manager Mary Smedley on 01773 880474.
