A Shire horse foal born on a snowy night over the Easter bank holiday weekend has been wooing visitors to the Chatsworth Farmyard.
A spokesman for the tourist attraction said: "With a Shetland pony also foaling a few days later, now is a great time to visit the farmyard to meet little and large."

The Shire, named Naomi, had her new foal in the stables at the Farmyard on Satu
rday, March 22, under the watchful eye of farmyard manager Margaret Norris, who stayed with the pair through the night.

The Shetland, Lady May, gave birth to her male foal in the early hours of Saturday, March 29, without any assistance.

Families visiting over the next few weeks have the chance to name the foals by putting their suggestions into a box in the Farmyard where both first time mothers are on show with their new foals.

As well as meeting the new arrivals, visitors to the farmyard can also take part in free craft activities in the barn up until April 20.

There will be opportunities for children to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in, taking home the fruits of their labour at the end of each session, he said

It's also a great time to explore the garden at this time of year just as it bursts into life with the help of a free spring trail.

Visitors can hand in a completed trail sheet for the chance to win a family outdoor pass which is valid at the venue for 12 months and worth £105.
