Festival upset

Madam,

I attended the Belper Music Festival, having arranged to meet there with friends and their families.
As an avid rock and blues fan (folk too) over many years I have supported music locally in the past, as some readers may recall, for the price of beer (in kind) if the tills reached a certain level (!) back in the 1980s at The George.

I was pretty surprised to see the £15 entrance fee at the Belper musical festival and felt that the fair to middling entertainment didn't warrant this entrance charge. I recently paid the same to see Wilko Johnson (Dr Feelgood) perform.

I also felt that the festival was poorly attended given the size of the town.

I don't wish to detract from peoples' efforts here and feel this general situation could be improved upon.

Bigger names in folk, rock and blues may well justify the price, but even that will exclude the very townsfolk that might wish to be there, families et al.

A stall selling something with meat on it might also be includednext time.
