The proud boys of the old Belper Fire Brigade pose outside North Mill at Chrsitmas 1902 in our main bygone picture this week. Strutts provided the service for both the mills and the town. Pictured left to right are:- Philip Harrison (Captain), T Street, T Spendlove, Mr Eley, Ed Loombes, G Bodell, W Stone, G Varney, George Cowley, Herbert Blount and Thomas Morley.

Thanks to Janet Slack for coming forward with details about the ‘Raising Funds in Fritchley’ photo which appeared in our August 14 edition. She was able to tell us the picture was taken in roughly 1983/84 and was of a barn dance in support of the ‘Fritchley Fundraisers,’ a group of parents who helped raise cash for the NSPCC and Fritchley Playschool.
