Band is reunited
The Enemy - reunited.
A WELL-known local punk band that played their first gig in Allestree in 1980 are reuniting after 28 years.
The Enemy debuted at Woodlands Youth Centre and then went on to enjoy four successful years. They received airplay on Radio One and reached number four in the UK Indie chart with ‘Fallen Hero’.
Now, the original line-up of Mark Herrington, of Duffield, Steve Mellers, of Kilburn, Mark Woodhouse and Steve O’Donnell, along with later member Kev Lamb, all of Allestree, are to play a gig at The Old Bell in Derby on Saturday, June 30.
Mark Herrington said: “We are very excited. We got together the first Saturday after Christmas and have been rehearsing every Saturday since. It’s going really well. It’s just like getting back on a bike again!”
