EXTRA matinees are to be added to forthcoming productions at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal due to exceptional demand.

An extra 2pm matinee has been added to the Rodgers And Hammerstein classic, The King And I, on Thursday, March 1, and to the comedy musical Sister Act on Friday, March 23.

Robert Sanderson, managing director of the Theatre Royal, said: “We have seen exceptional levels of ticket sales in recent weeks, both at the box office and via our website’s 24-hour online ticketing service.

“It’s very encouraging to see such strong sales across all the productions in our spring season especially at this time of year, when people are being careful with their spending. I believe it’s a clear indication from our customers that we are getting it right.”

More information about these additional matinee performances and the whole programme of events at the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall is available at www.trch.co.uk or by calling on 0115 9895555.
