Nursery rhyme time in hit show

Hey Diddle Diddle

Hey Diddle Diddle

Producers The Panto Company bring their kids’ show Hey Diddle Diddle! to Derby’s Assembly Rooms on Sunday, February 24, from 2pm.

Hey Diddle Diddle takes place in Rhyme Town, the secret location where nursery rhyme characters live when they’re not busy with bedtime stories. In Rhyme Town, it’s the annual

Jumping Over The Moon contest; an event which The Cow has won for the past five years.

However, this year, Little Miss Muffet has made a trampoline from IncyWincy Spider’s web, and she’s certain she’s going to get the trophy.

But Wee Willie Winkie is up to his old tricks. He’s scared the two judges of the contest – The Dish and The Spoon – and they’ve run away! Without anyone to judge the jump, the contest will have to be cancelled.

The problem is so important that two delightful puppet characters, Jenny and Davey, come to life in order to help.

They visit Old King Cole to borrow his Big Book Of Bedtime Stories (although he makes them play a game of Hide and Seek first), and set off around Rhyme Town to find The Dish and The Spoon.

At the end of the show, Jenny and Davey will perform a brand new nursery rhyme.

Tickets, priced at £11.25, under 16s £9.25, can be purchased from the box office on 01332 255800.
