SCHOOLS, organisations and individuals in Belper are being encouraged to get their aprons on and take part in a massive baking event to raise money for Haiti.
A special Cakes for Haiti event has been lauched nationwide in a bid to keep up support in the months after a huge earthquake hit the Carribean island in January, killing more than 150,000 and leaving more than a million homeless.

Groups need to register before the event to make sure all proceeds are collected.

Bakesales will take place in dozens of locations around the UK.

Visit www.cakesforhaiti.org for more information.

Today's Vote

What do you think of the government's plans to axe free swimming for children and elderly people?
I think it's ridiculous
It's fair enough if it didn't have the uptake they expected.
I don't care. It doesn't affect me.
