A group of young people in Belper have been putting their summer holidays to good use by helping the community.
Fourteen young people aged between 11 and 14 took part in a 'Dreamscheme' project, organised by Christian Group Hope 08 Belper, from August 11 to August 15. The group worked on the Whitemoor Marshes and with users of the Whitemoor Centre.

The group's hard work was rewarded with a trip to Alton Towers on Friday.

Organiser Andrew Race said: "It's been so well received. We're very pleased with the response, it's been great to see the young people learning new skills and helping people. We couldn't have asked for a better bunch."

Jack Morris, 13, said: "I'm really enjoying helping the community with the reservoir and being outside and meeting people."
