CARING students and staff from Belper School have been busy fundraising for a baby unit at Derby City Hospital.
Students from the school presented a cheque for £1,000 to the Friends of the Baby Unit.

Rosie Spears, who is a teaching assistant at the school, was involved in the fundraising as her grandson Harry was in the unit for four weeks before he died earlier this year.

The money was raised at a disco held by students from years seven and eight where 20 older students performed in a 'garage' show watched by more than 100 people.

Students who took part in the show visited the baby unit to present a cheque to Dr John McIntyre, consultant paediatrician.
