The Derbyshire County Primary Care Trust has appointed Ian Forrest as its new chairman of the board.
The appointment follows the retirement of John Raine, who has served as chairman since the trust was formed in October 2006.

Mr Forrest, who lives in Alderwasley, has been appointed from July 1, 2009 for a period of four years.

He worked for British Coal for 25 years.

The trust has a budget in excess of £1billion.

This is used to commission a full range of health services, from community and GP services through to the services being offerd to the public from main hospitals.
