A new manager is being sought for Strutt's North Mill Visitor Centre.
Mary Smedley, who is retiring as manager of the centre, said: "It has been a very rewarding and interesting job and I will miss it greatly. I still hope to have some involvement in the project."
Over the last 13 years, the trust has amassed a remarkable range of machinery and artefacts to explain the vital part played by the Strutt family and Belper in the Industrial Revolution.
The North Mill, part of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, now faces the challenge of presenting the museum to the world in the 21st century.
Anyone who would like to know more about the mill, either as a volunteer or as potential manager, should contact Mary on 01773 880474, or call in at the mill, Wednesday to Sunday, from 1pm to 5pm.
