MOST of the residents who visited Herbert Strutt Primary School for an open day this weekend said they would like to see the old building converted into a library when the school's pupils move to their new eco-school at the start of next year.
Guests, including ex-pupils and teachers, visited the Derby Road school on Saturday to share their memories of the building and have their say on its future.

Janet Honey, chairman of the civic forum, said that more than 90 people came along to say how they would like to see the listed building used.

She said: "We did ask people what they would like to see done with the building and the majority of people that expressed an opinion said that it should be put to some sort of community use including a library."
