A hotel in Shottle that forms part of the Chatsworth Estate has been placed in administration.
The order was made on Shottle Hall Hotel on White Lane on June 15 in the High Courts of Justice.

However, a director at the hotel said it is businesses as usual and the order was merely a technicality.

Seamus Allsion, said: "Essentially what ha
s happened is that Neil Everatt (a local solicitor) and I have formed a business – Shottle Hall Developments – to acquire Shottle Hall Hotel from its owners and directors, who are continuing to work in the business to help us develop it further.

"As a result of the purchase the previous business has been put into administration.

He added: "We believe that the hall is an excellent business that provides an outstanding experience for its customers and we really wanted to get involved.

"We intend to continue the good work of the previous owners and work with them to develop the business still further, expanding its functions and corporate capability and establishing a new marquee weddings and functions venue, making the hall a unique venue in the area for larger events."

The hotel opened in February 2005 and once had film star Colin Firth as a guest.
