An Ambergate business will soon have its logo dominating the skies over Belper after striking a sponsorship deal with a Ripley-based ballooning club.
William Bailey Ltd has provided more than £10,000 to purchase a new 'envelope' for the Nottingham Hot Air Balloon Club, the first new balloon the club has had since the 1990s.

The group's chairman and pilot Brian Trowbridge said: "We fly as often as we an and rely on advertising to pay for the running costs.

"We're looking for new members all the time. You can join for a year for £250 and as long as you're able to help out with driving the vans, launching or flying the balloons you can go on the rota and fly as often as possible. It's a club for all ages."

The new balloon will get its first public flight as soon as the weather is good enough to launch.

Clive Bailey, from William Bailey Ltd, will be able to keep a close eye on his company's investment as he has taken up membership of the club himself.
