Environmental chiefs have issued a number of flood alerts in Amber Valley amid heavy rain.
The Environment Agency has issued alerts for a number of rivers in parts of the borough.
Flooding of low-lying agricultural land and roads continues along the River Amber around Ambergate. River levels are falling with light rainfall forecast over the next 12 hours.
Flood alerts are also in force for the Lower Derwent and Bottle Brook. The B6179 at Kilburn and Little Eaton may be affected by flood water if river levels continue to rise and Wood Lane, Horsley Woodhouse is flooded.
Craig Woolhouse, of the Environment Agency, said: “Our teams are out around the clock to minimise the risks and prepare for flooding, clearing drainage channels and ensuring that defences are working properly.
“We urge people to keep up to date with the weather forecast and local news overnight and remain prepared for flooding and staying away from dangerous flood water.”
