Preparations are in full swing for the annual Whatstandwell Social ClubHome Crafts and Produce Show, which takes place this weekend.
The popular event will this year be held on Saturday, September 7 at Crich Carr School, Whatstandwell.
The show will feature classes including fruit and vegetables, flowers & house plants, home baking, bread, needlecraft, handicrafts and photography.
Everyone is welcome to take part and entry is free; simply turn up between 10am and 12 noon on Saturday, September 13 to enter your exhibits free of charge.
The show opens at 3pm and the children’s fancy dress parade and judging is at 3.15pm.
Trophies and prizes will be presented at 3.45pm and an auction of the produce will take place at 4pm.
Organiser, Stephen Haslam, said: “The show has been a great success in previous years and hopefully will continue to be this year.”
The social club organises events and activities for the entertainment of the people of Whatstandwell and Crich Carr and raises money for worthy causes and charities.
In June, members staged a family friendly music festival and an open gardens events across the village.
Elsewhere, as reported in last week’s Belper News, Turnditch and Windley Show is also taking place on Saturday on the showground off Wirksworth Road in Windley from 8am t0 5pm.
This years’ event will see hundreds of exhibitors and a huge range of attractions going on in the village.
