POLICE are investigating a suspected arson at a derelict farm house in South Normanton.
Officers believe arsonists entered the disused building at Red Lane in the village and started the blaze, on Friday.
Fire crews from Alfreton were called out just before 8pm to tackle the blaze and stayed fighting flames until around 11pm.
Appliances from Ripley, Claycross, Chesterfield and Ilkeston were also called to assist at the scene.
The Chesterfield appliance used an aerial ladder to tackle flames from above at the two-storey building, which has been derelict for a number of years.
A fire investigation is now underway.
If you have any information which could help police, call them on 101, or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
