DELIGHTED youngsters got stuck into a variety of arts activities at a centre in Belper.

Children went along to Fleet Arts last Friday, August 5, for the first in a series of sessions that end tomorrow, August 11.

On the theme of ‘Lots of Small Things’, the youngsters made walnut shell containers, mini water wheels, and instruments from junk. They also blew bubbles and made origami boxes.

The sessions, at Fleet Arts’ base on The Fleet, were for children aged five to 11 years.

Fleet Arts’ director Sarah Laman said: “We are delighted that Belper Town Council has been able to offer us a grant again. There were some very experienced workers running the workshops – all are local people — and there were some really fun workshops that the children enjoyed and learnt a lot from.”
