Ripley Battle of the Bands comes to a close on Wednesday with a grand finale at the Out of Town pub on Butterley Hill.
Slugging it out for the prize of a trophy and a supporting slot for one of two touring bands, ‘post-hardcore’ band Apparently We Fly, South Normanton act The Executive Crew, Derby based 3-piece Charm of Achilles and Burton based Deadlight.
The overall winner will support to nationally recognised band Silent Screams at this years Deafbox Festival, held at the Intake Club, Mansfield on September 15 and 16.
One of the judges and Deafbox Promotions owner Shaun Bunting said: “This year’s battle of the band has seen some exceptional bands playing, sadly we have had to lose some great ones due to the standards being so high, but people can be assured that the grand final on Wednesday will be a gig that everyone will remember!
“There’s a big mixture of genre’s in the final so there’s definitely something for everyone, so come down and get involved!”
The final will also have a guest appearance from local singer-songwriter Amy Key who is quickly making a name for herself with BBC introducing. Doors are at 7.30pm.
