Belper play centre voted best in region at awards night

Belper soft play centre Chucklebutties has been voted one of Britain’s best in the UK’s first national Soft Play awards.

The venue beat off competition from hundreds of rivals to claim the prize as the very top place for children to play in the East Midlands.

The prestigious awards, run by UK’s largest parenting site Netmums.com, saw over 1.6 million mums and dads eligible to vote for their favourite soft play centre.

The indoor playgrounds - which have padded climbing frames and slides for young children - have soared in popularity over the last five years with dozens of new businesses opening in the area.

The awards were set up to celebrate the best in the burgeoning industry.

Chucklebutties Play and Party Centre in Belper was launched by Steph and Jon Jansen in 2005 and is used by hundreds of local children each week.

Delighted Steph Jansen said: “Winning this award is fantastic recognition for our hardworking staff who put in a huge amount of effort to keep our visitors entertained.

“Knowing local parents have voted us the best soft play centre in the East Midlands is amazing.

“We knew competition would be tough so to win is a big deal for us and for Belper.”

The centre will now receive a special certificate to display in their centre along with a three month gold listing and a sought-after ‘Netmums favourite’ badge for their website.

Only 12 centres around the UK were deemed good enough to be regional winners.
