Bird-lovers up with the lark

The National Trust at Ilam Park is combining an early morning walk with a full Staffordshire breakfast on Saturday, April 24.

At 6.30am, bird-lovers can enjoy a stroll through the park to listen to the dawn chorus with help on hand from expert birder Jarrod Sneyd to identify some of the feathered songsters.

South Peak community and learning officer Ken Sharples said: "It's always a thrill to be up and about right at the start of the day to hear the park waking up.

"The Dawn Chorus Walk is aimed at those with little or no knowledge of birds, so for some people it could be their first experience of a great natural event"

For more information and to book a place on the walk telephone 01335 350503.
