Youngsters enjoyed an educational trip to an important historical site.
Children from Cromford Primary School in North Street visited Cromford Wharf where they learnt about the industrial revloution and went on a narrowboat.
The trip was made possible after years of fund-raising and hard work by charitable organisation The Friends of Cromford Canal - who launched their 1938 ex-working narrow boat “Birdswood” in November - operating between Cromford and High Peak Junction.
Due to planned winter maintenance on the canal, Birdswood will not be operating public trips again until March.
Cromford Wharf is the historic terminus of Cromford Canal. Built at the end of the 18th century.
