A CLUB for the elderly in Belper is clearly ‘egg-cited’ for Easter!
For the Autumn Club, which meets at the Strutts Centre, on Derby Road, had an Easter bonnet competition.
The 11 entries were judged by Belper Mayor John Nelson and his wife Maureen.
They picked three winners, who were all given prizes of chocolates.
First prize went to Peggy Gordon, runner-up was Jean Barlow, while third-place went to the Autumn Club’s founder, Kitty Weston.
Kitty, who knitted an Easter bunny to go on top of her bonnet, said: “They were all beautiful. Everyone put such a lot of hard work into the hats.”
The Autumn Club’s next meeting is on Monday, April 18, between 1.30pm and 3.30pm. New members are very welcome.
Kitty said: “Those that go to the meetings do enjoy it.”
