AN IDRIDGEHAY author is donating the profits of her latest book to the air ambulance.
Marion Holden, who recently turned 90, is giving the proceeds of Beyond the Stackyard, about life in the local area to the Derbyshire Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
The book, which is available in the Idridgehay Village Shop, Belper Library and Belper Air Ambulance Shop, gives a first-hand account of some of the characters who have lived and worked in the area over the years.
Marion said: “I often pop into the air ambulance shop in Belper and I thought that it seemed right that a book about local life should help raise money to save lives across Derbyshire.
“The air ambulance does an amazing job in our area and I am delighted that sales of my book are helping keep this important service in the air.”
Staff at the air ambulance shop recently baked Marion a birthday cake to celebrate her 90th birthday and to thank her for her contribution to the charity.
Shop manager Julie Wells said: “Marion’s book really captures her energy and her unique knowledge of our area. Copies have been flying off the shelves and everyone at the shop would like to thank Marion for her kind donation and continued support.”
