BELPER firm Chevin Fleet Solutions is celebrating 21 years in business.
Since the firm, based at East Mill, Bridgefoot, was set up in September, 1990, it has grown to now maintains more than 1.3 million vehicles across the globe.
Its major achievement, said a spokesman for the firm, was creating the first web-based fleet management solution, FleetWave, in 2001.
Managing director Ashley Sowerby, 43, said Chevin was the only international fleet management technology and consultancy provider, serving public, private and non-government organisations.
It now boasts bases in the UK, Ireland, Belgium, North America and Australia, and a customer base covering 30 countries. Founder Mr Sowerby said: “When I started Chevin, I gave myself the goal of bringing quality software solutions to the fleet industry, something I feel we’ve more than achieved in the past two decades.
“After the initial start-up, business quickly began to grow as organisations realised the financial and operational benefits of fleet management software.”
He said a key highlight was creating FleetWave which allowed firms to move away from paper or desktop fleet management processes and use the internet instead.
The company now employs 37.
