A MOVE aimed at finding at least 700 young people jobs has been launched in Derbyshire.
The county council has announced a huge apprenticeship drives as figures show there are currently over 5,000 under-25s out of work across the county – a rate of 6.4 per cent which is higher than the national average of 5.5 per cent.
The council says it is s committed to giving young people the best possible start in life through education, employment and training. It has launched the apprenticeship scheme to create 500 Derbyshire County Council apprenticeships over the next four years. And it is offering training grants for small and medium-sized companies in Derbyshire to take on school leavers.
