Local firms could join PM’s trade missions
Belper MP Pauline Latham has urged David Cameron to give businesses in her Constituency the opportunity to accompany him on overseas trade missions following his recent trip to India.
Speaking in the House of Commons Chamber during the weekly session of Prime Minister’s Questions (PMQ’s), Mrs Latham urged that Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs)in Mid Derbyshire be given the chance to “play their part” in driving Britain’s exports to emerging markets such as India, China and the rest of the world.
The PM replied: “I have led trade missions to every single G20 country, apart from Argentina, and I look forward to doing more in the future. I will certainly include SMEs, and perhaps some from my hon. Friend’s constituency”.
