Mid Derbyshire MP to attend Derbyshire business event

THE impacts of public expenditure cuts and inflation, supporting market towns, and measures to assist small business are all issues that are likely to be high on the agenda when business leaders in mid-Derbyshire meet their new MP.

Pauline Latham, whose constituency includes Belper, Little Eaton and Morley, will be the guest at the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce’s MP breakfast, which takes place at the offices of Deb Ltd in Denby, on Friday, June 10.

The event is the latest in a programme of business briefings, aimed at bringing local politicians and the business community together. The informal round-table discussion will take place over breakfast, providing Chamber members with an opportunity to raise their concerns with local politicians on the key aspects that they feel are affecting their trading.

Mrs Latham, a former mayor of the City of Derby, will be joined by chamber chief executive George Cowcher, who said:“The Chamber looks forward to welcoming representatives from the business community of mid-Derbyshire along to this event, for what is bound to be a lively and informative discussion.

“These meetings allow the chamber to keep abreast of local business issues, which is extremely useful when it comes to determining the lobbying priorities and objectives for the campaigning it undertakes on behalf of its members.”
