Mini entrepreneurs expand into the card making market

Two siblings from Belper who launched a game on the global Apple iPhone App Store have been promoting their product with greeting cards.

Mooey’s Flight Adventure is the creation of Jack Handley, aged 11, and his sister Lucy, aged nine.

The app, dreamed up by Jack, is a flying game based around Lucy’s adventures with her teddy bears.

Now, the pair have launched a new range of cards in conjunction with a licensed distributor, Kidz Kardz, at a busy opening day of the UK’s largest retail trade exhibition, Spring Fair International, at the NEC in Birmingham last week.

The enterprising brother and sister were joined by Tina Hammett, managing director of Kidz Kardz, at the launch, which took place in front of a large audience of retail buyers who were all keen to see the unique colour-in-and-keep personalised greeting card concept, and the people behind it.

Tina said: “To have the creators of our new range of Mooey and his mates greeting cards with us at the Spring Fair was really exciting.

“Jack and Lucy’s enthusiasm for the new cards brought our exhibition stand to life and I’m sure they added a little extra sparkle to everyone’s day at the Spring Fair.

““Even at a young age the two of them are determined to support the licensing agreement we have with them, and their commitment further underlines why we were attracted to the brand in the first instance and why we believe being able to offer cards to kids that have been designed by other kids will be so successful in today’s competitive market place.”
