Opticians joins road safety campaign

An opticians is offering motorists in Belper the chance to test their reactions and check if their eyes are fit to drive, as part of a ‘Drive Safe’ awareness event on Saturday November, 24.

Specsavers has teamed up with Derbyshire County Council’s Road Safety Unit to highlight the importance of good vision while driving as part of a wider national Road Safety Weekcampaign.

The one day event will take place at the store which is located at 46-48 KingStreet in Belper from 10am-4pm; visitors are encouraged to attend and have their eyes screened free of charge.

Andy McBride, store director at Specsavers in Belper, said: ‘We’re offering these free vision screenings to highlight the importance of eyecare to drivers before the winter months start drawing in.”
