Pub supports forces appeal

editorial image

A pub has been supporting serving and ex-servicemen by raising more than £750 for the Poppy Appeal.

The Tavern on Derby Road, Belper, generated the cash by holding weekly meat auctions and also has the proceeds of a poppy tin to boost the total even further.

Meat has been supplied Matkins Butchers, Swanwick and donated by J.J.N. Building Services for the events.

The pub has previously raised cash for the Penny Wheeler Fund and supported Movemeber with an event at the weekend.

Pictured are landlady and landlord Nicky and Peter Foster with their poppy tin.
