Stately Brides is getting it right

BLUSHING brides can head to a wedding dress shop in Belper that is bucking the recession trend.
Stately Brides has just opened the doors to its new premises on King Street.
The shop was previously at premises on Hayfield Close in the town.
And now, following the move, Stately Brides owner Leanne Whysall couldn’t be happier with how things are going.
Leanne, 30, who gave birth to new addition Lucy on Christmas Day, said: “It is going fantastic.
“We have been really busy and had a lot of interest from a lot of people.
“People cannot wait to come in and have a look.”
Leanne hosted an opening day event, complete with champagne, alongside staff member Rachel Pecz to launch the shop.
On the new premises, Leanne said: “It is a more prime location.
“The business was doing really well so we took the view that if we moved to a high street location, it would do even better.”
And that has certainly proved to be the case in what Leanne thinks is the perfect shopping town.
“Belper is a brilliant little town,” said Leanne.
“It is full of nice little local shops, as well as some good bigger shops.There is such a lovely feel to the town. A lot of people come to Belper now to do their shopping.”
The perilious financial situation gripping the UK didn’t concern Leanne.
She said: “We had no worries about moving there in the current climate.
“We set up the original shop in the middle of a financial dip three years ago and that succeeded.”
Leanne’s proud mum, Katrina Kent, said: “With her just having had a baby, it is all happening to Leanne at once! But she has done really well. I am very proud of her.”
Leanne, who is married to Gary and has another daughter, Sophie, three, opened the original Stately Brides in May 2009.
