A Turnditch butchers has proved it is a cut above the rest by beating off 200 rivals to scoop a top national award.
Anthony Andrews Traditional Butchers won the innovation category at the Meat Traders Journal Awards at the Landmark Hotel in London.
The shop was presented with the accolade for its steak night which it hosts once a month in the Cross Keys Pub in Turnditch.
Owner, Anthony Griffiths, said: “I take my butchers block into the restaurant and people can choose their cut of steak and how thick they would like it, this has proven to be a massive success and is sold out months in advance.
“Another reason we won is that we offer a text and delivery service that has become very popular, customers simply text their order through and we deliver it after hours.
“There were over 200 butchers in the awards and we were amazed to win our category.”
