A BELPER card shop has been named runner-up in a retailer of the year contest.
Hallmark, on King Street, was nominated as part of the chain’s Gold Crown scheme which assesses sales, feedback from customers and the reports of mystery shoppers. Owner Andrew Eaton, who has run the shop with wife Lesley for the past seven and a half years, paid tribute to assistants Lynne Miles, Clare Parrott, Charlotte Allen, Catrina Vallis and Tracy Beardmore, who was also nominated for the Belper News’ Super Server award.
He said: “We have had a tough twelve months. Last October the florist next door burnt down and we ended up closed for ten days so this is a nice little pat on the back.”
