Weather to stay cold as we head into the weekend, say forecasters

WEATHER experts have said today will be a very cold day across Derbyshire, with temperatures around -3C.

There is the chance of a few snow flurries in other areas, but Derbyshire should escape. Tonight temperatures in the county would not rise above freezing. As we head into the weekend, the temperatures should rise by a few degrees.

Drivers were warned to allow enough time for journeys and to watch out for black ice.

Roads in the county were generally clear with no reports of accidents so far this morning. There was the usual heavy traffic at the Little Eaton roundabout on the A38 during the morning rush-hour.
