Cars and beer festival

AN AWARD-winning farm shop in Duffield is hosting something that’s a little bit different from its usual business.

Croots, which is on Wirksworth Road, is staging a Vintage and Classic Car Day and Beer Festival on Saturday, August 27.

The bank holiday weekend event will also feature birds of prey displays, a barbecue and a bouncy castle.

It is free entry and will run from 10am to 5pm.

Steve Croot, who runs the farm shop, said: “We held a similar event last year for the first time and it went down very well, so we decided to hold it again this year and include additional attractions, like the static and flying bird of prey displays.

“We’re expecting about 25 different cars of varying makes and models, plus there will be the added attractions of the beer tent, the bouncy castle and the barbecue.”

There will also be honey-tasting sessions throughout the day.

The event will be held in the fields in front of the farm shop.
