A BELPER church is to start its seasonal festivities with a mammoth four-day Christmas tree festival.
Christ Church, on the Triangle, is putting on the event which begins at 7pm tonight, December 7, with a torchlight procession from Beaurepaire Gardens to the church, where there will be a short service followed by refreshments including mince pies.
The vicar, Father Jonathan Page, said: “This is a real community event. Local groups and businesses such as the Devonshire Arms pub, jeweller David Nidd, Howarth’s Butchers, Belper Town Council, and local churches have decorated Christmas trees.”
The festival will run 10am to 6.30pm each day, from tomorrow, December 8, and culminate with carols at 6.30pm on Sunday. Also, on Saturday the church is holding a Christmas bazaar.
