CITIZENS’ Advice bosses in Amber Valley are urging people who have been the victims of scams to get in touch.

The service (CAB) is currently involved in the national campaign – Tackling Scams and wants anyone who has been a victim of a scam to let CAB or Derbyshire Trading Standards officers know.

Anyone who has fallen prey to the conmen can contact CAB on the adviceline 0844 375 2712 or Trading Standards at trading.standards@derbyshire.gov.uk

CAB offers a free, impartial, confidential and independent advice and information service. It provides information, advice and advocacy on a range of issues including benefits, debt, employment, housing, relationships, consumer and other legal areas.

A spokesman said: “You can access Citizens Advice online, on the telephone, by dropping in at one of our offices or making an appointment at your GP surgery.

“You will find a wealth of information and self help tools online at: www.adviceguide.org.uk

“If you prefer to drop in and see an adviser – you can drop in at Heanor, Matlock or Ilkeston on a Monday and at Ilkeston and Matlock on a Tuesday.

“We also offer CAB services in almost every GP surgery – please ask at your GP surgery reception for details.”
