DERBYSHIRE County Council’s work to crackdown on the sale of counterfeit goods throughout the East Midlands has won national acclaim.
Trading standards officers from the county council work with the East Midlands ‘Scambusters’ team.
The successes of Scambusters earned a prestigious award from the Anti-Counterfeiting Group – the UK’s industry task force which tackles the global trade of counterfeit goods.
Cllr Kevin Parkinson, of the county council, said: “Our trading standards officers do a tremendous job making sure companies are working within the law and keeping people safe. The trade of counterfeit goods is big business - crossing regional and international boundaries.”
