GUN and knife crimes have plummeted across Derbyshire.
Latest figures show that officers in the county dealt with 190 crimes relating to the use of knives and sharpened weapons between April 2011 and December 2011.
That compares to 271 for the same period the year before.
Crimes involving guns were also down to 73 between April 2011 and February 2012, from 110 for the same period the previous year.
Police authority member David Bowley said: “It is nice to see”.
