Police have revealed a woman was targeted by conmen as she was putting her shopping in her car at Belper’s Morrisons supermarket.
The victim was approached by a man with a map who distracted her by asking directions to Macclesfield.
Meanwhile, his accomplice entered her car and took bank cards from her purse. These were quickly used to withdraw money from her account.
The first man is described as being white, in his mid-forties, 5’11” tall, of heavy build with dark hair and long sideburns or abeard.
He was wearing a safari style hat, thick black rimmed spectacles and khaki combat trousers.

In previous examples of this type of crime in other parts of Derbyshire the shopper has been watched as they put their pin number in at a checkout or cash point before being targeted by card thieves.
