Stolen digger is found in Ilkeston

The JCB stolen from a farm in Belper yesterday has been found in Ilkeston.

Police were called to Rutland Cottage Inn on Heanor Road this morning (Wednesday February 29) after a JCB Site Master was found in the car park. Enquiries confirmed that the JCB was the stolen vehicle.

Officers are appealing to anyone who saw the vehicle being dumped to contact them on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

The JCB was stolen from a farm at Openwoodgate yesterday morning.

A Lexus and an Audi were also taken along with other property. After the burglary the house was found to be on fire. A joint investigation between the police and fire service is continuing to determine the cause of the fire.
