Thieves stole a large amount of valuable garden furniture from a hotel in Belper.

Police are appealing for information after around 20 rattan style tables with glass tops and about 100 rattan chairs were taken from Blackbrook House, off Ashbourne Road.

The furniture is worth several thousand pounds and due to the volume, would have required a lorry or similar size vehicle to remove.

Officers want to hear from anyone who may have seen a vehicle or people acting suspiciously near the house, which is a wedding and conferencing venue.

The theft took place between 2.30pm on Saturday, March 21 and 10.30am on Sunday, March 22.

Anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of the items, or who may have been offered rattan garden furniture for sale, should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting crime reference 11857/15.

You can also call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
